Vatskalis Konsents

Kon Vatskalis, Minister for Primary Industry, has finally agreed to face Alice Springs residents on the issues of uranium exploration and mining. A public forum will be held next time he is in town. Unfortunately, we do not have a date yet. The only indication in the letter from Minister Vatskalis is that at least 2 weeks notice will be given before his next visit. We will publicise the forum date as soon as we lock it in. All residents of Alice Springs and the surrounding lands are encouraged to attend and hold the Territory government accountable for the decisions they make.
Keep an eye out for the meeting date!

Gardens Challenge: Couch Grass and Natives

DKA COOLmob are coordinating a series of open garden days through the
'Gardens Challenge' project. This is a great opportunity for anyone
interested in arid zone gardening

There are three gardens that will be open to the public, one is a vegetable
garden, one is a 'family friendly' garden which also incorporates food
plants, and the other is a native garden.

The next Gardens Challenge open days are:

. Getting Rid Of Couch Grass- 28th February, 16 Clarke St

. Native plants for Bush Blocks- 7th March, Lot 8204 Ragonessi Road

Times are to be confirmed, however will likely be early morning. Please call
Robbie for further details on 89520299.
